Friday Papers: or more on the week’s protests

Friday is traditionally a slow news day in the Middle East, and today is no different. Al-Sharq al-Awsat has this piece on the protests this week, claiming that two soldiers were injured in al-Dhala’ and more than 15 people arrested. Overall, the piece claims that roughly 50 people have been arrested since Tuesday.

And in what I can only imagine is nod to Waq al-waq, Arafat Madabish adds a year to the calendar, claiming that it has been 16 years not 15 since the end of the civil war – presumably this is a nod to Brian’s difficulties reading the calendar earlier this week.
