Making a rare appearance on the balcony of Ecuador’s London embassy where he has spent the last six months, Julian Assange lashed out against “war criminals,” a corrupt media and “timid” academics. Assange also took the opportunity to salute Bradley Manning, jailed journalists and others “whose fates are linked to mine.”
While Assange said 2012 was a year of significant successes for Wikileaks (“We have exposed the mass surveillance state”), he says the organization will be “equally busy” standing up to “bullies” in 2013.
According to Assange, Wikileaks is preparing to release over one million documents in the new year. These documents will affect “every country in the world,” he said.
