Does Language Change How We Think? Ask the Hyper-Polyglot Teen Who Speaks 20 of Them

Teenage hyper-polyglot Tim Doner speaks 20 languages, which he says often makes him become "a different person."

“Each language is in many ways an expression of how one society or culture thinks,” says hyper-polyglot Tim Doner. “I feel that when I start to speak foreign languages, a lot of times I become a bit of a different person. Perhaps I say things that I wouldn’t necessarily say in English.”

Doner, now 17, has been teaching himself foreign languages since he was 13. He is considered a polyglot because he speaks 3 or 4 languages at a high level. In the video below, created and produced by @radical.media, Doner explains how he expresses himself in 20 languages, a level of fluency that makes him a hyper-polyglot.
