“Today’s technology may be determining not just how we spend our time: It actually may be ‘rewiring’ the way we think, how we experience the world around us.” Opinion is divided over whether new Internet technologies are a boon or burden to our mental faculties. Many from later generations say today’s e-knowledge is cheap and superficial while others point to the scientific and technological progress enabled by new communication and computational capabilities as proof of their greatness. “‘Books’ are not the shape of knowledge.
