Peter Saalfield
Peter James Saalfield is a freelance journalist living in Brooklyn, New York. While growing up and attending high school in Harvard, Massachusetts, he liked watching old movies, playing baseball, and partying in the woods with his friends. After studying English and Creative Writing at Wesleyan University, he moved to New York in the summer of 2006. For five years he worked as a researcher, associate producer, and then producer for “Charlie Rose” on PBS, where his production credits included the “Charlie Rose Science Series” in 2007 and the “Charlie Rose Brain Series” in 2009 and 2010. He loved working for Charlie Rose, where he could be around brilliant people all the time, but in the spring of 2011 he made the difficult decision to leave the show in order to pursue his true passion: writing. Peter likes to write about big ideas in government, the social sciences, and biology. So far he has published in Patch, Wesleyan Magazine, and Big Think, with a new piece upcoming in Harvard Magazine.
