Carol Friedman

Carol Friedman is a New York-based portrait photographer who has photographed music, art, and business icons for more than two decades. Her award-winning images of jazz, soul, and classical music artists have been published worldwide and can be seen on hundreds of album and CD covers.
In the 1990s, Friedman was chief photographer and art director for Blue Note Records. She has also served as vice president and creative director for Elektra Entertainment and Motown. As a filmmaker, she has produced and directed several music videos and, for the past decade, has been filming the life and work of singer Abbey Lincoln for a feature-length documentary. In 2003, Friedman founded Dominick Media to publish a collection of books and music for children. She serves on the board of directors for the Grammy organization, The Recording Academy (NARAS), and Jazz Alliance International (JAI).
