This article (English) reminds me of the problems that certain academics (who shan’t be named here) had attempting to explain how something like the September 11 attacks could have happened when they had been arguing for years that al-Qaeda and had been defeated long ago and that radical Islam was a spent force.

I’ve never understood the rationale that holds an organization is carrying out attacks, therefore, it must be growing weaker. The latest issue of Sada alMalahim, in my opinion, demonstrates just the opposite of what the Yemen Post is arguing. I understand the frustration in the Post’s article, but not the conclusion.

News Yemen helps to explain the strategic importance of Jabal Dukhan and gives a bit more information, which is helpful since the mountain is not in my mu’ajim al-buldan.
