David Karp just became a lot wealthier and Yahoo became a lot hipper. And we became a lot more interested in Tumblr, the microblogging and social networking platform that Yahoo bought for over $1 billion.
For the uninitiated, we have compiled a short list of Tumblrs that are worth checking out. Please share your own recommendations with the Big Think community.
In 2011, The New York Times declared Anthony De Rosa “the undisputed king of Tumblr.” Both on Twitter and Tumblr, the Thompson Reuters social media manager built a large following as a reliable source for breaking news.
Maria Popova gave the PBS host and writer Joe Hanson this endorsement: “Everyone’s favorite Feynman of the Tumblr era.” In addition to posting PBS episode extras, Hanson makes science book recommendations “from brains to biology to space to art to physics.”
Tumblr is kind to the image, and “The Only Magic Left Is Art” has been kind to artists. This curated online art gallery celebrates the “era of ‘artistic equality’ among the creative stratosphere.”
